The Sudanese animation contest (Animate-it!) was the first nationwide animation contest in Sudan. The contest was done in collaboration with the Goethe-institute Khartoum as a part of the mutual ongoing efforts for capacity development in the Sudanese digital arts sector.
The goal of Animate-it was to provide young, aspiring animators in Sudan with the recognition and platform they needed to demonstrate their abilities. "A great day in your life" was chosen as the topic for Animate-it, which might have been an imagined version of a gorgeous day or a day that actually happened. Mr. Mohammed Yahja (Al-Hajjay), the well-known Sudanese storyteller, and acclaimed animator and filmmaker Mr. Moritz Mayerhofer acted as judges for the contest with their knowledge and expertise in the digital arts and animation sectors.
By showcasing the many abilities and dedication to the developing Sudanese animation sector, Animate-it recognized and supported the love for animated entertainment in Sudan and will optimistically pave the way for similarly inspiring events.
The Contest proved to be a success and we at Cloud Aster proudly display our winners below:
